Crime Stoppers offering $5,000 reward in unsolved Lehigh murder case
It's been more than six years since Johnnie Nance had to bury her son, Randolph Buchanan.
"I be crying all the time, you know, because I can't see him. I don't know where he at," said Johnnie.
Randolph, also known as "Beechnut," was a caring man who loved old-school music, dirt bikes, and Beechnut baby food when he was little. Brother Trevor Nance said Beechnut was the care-taker of the family.
"Nobody could take his place. He was my Superman. He was always there for me," Nance said.
That was until April 2018, when the family received the worst news imaginable. Buchanan was found shot and killed at Sparta Avenue in Lehigh Acres. Shortly after his murder, deputies found his car engulfed in flames in Hendry County. According to reports, detectives had two suspects on their radar. The Immokalee men even had burns on their arms. However, detectives say they didn't have enough to arrest them.
"He ain't deserve that. He didn't. He was too good of a person to get robbed for life like that. He had a lot more living to do," Nance said.
"I think someone should have been behind bars by now," said Johnnie.
There's new hope for the family now. Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for anyone with information that could lead to arrests. They say even the smallest tip could finally bring this family justice.
"I love my brother from the cradle to the grave. I hope we meet again. I do. I hope we meet again," Nance said.
