Crowley church destroyed by Wednesday morning storm

ACADIA PARISH, La. () — For more than three years, Living Word Ministries has spread the word of God in the Crowley community. Now, the church needs your help after Wednesday's storm made the entire roof cave in.

"We put our love in this man. We are a small church and everything that God gave us for the members to try and beautify the sanctuary of God to come and see this," said head pastor Bishop Dustin Walters Sr.

Walters said he had no idea this happened until he showed up to get ready for the day. He believes the heavy rain caused water to build up on the roof which became too heavy for the building's integrity. After speaking with everyone who showed up, you can still see the shock they were in after witnessing the destruction of what took place.

KLFY Daily Digest Felicia Davis is the church musician. She said she didn't realize it was as bad as it was until she showed up.

"I was like okay they could probably put that up. Now I'm looking at it, and half the church is down. It's really bad," Davis said.

Felton Hogan is a good friend of Walters and a fellow minister.

"Makes me want to go in tears. I know all the late nights this man of god stayed up and all the passion he has for what god has given him," he said.

Walters encourages anyone to help to reach out to him or donate to their GoFundMe
