CT Weather: New Details Released As Storm Hits Prior To Thanksgiving
CONNECTICUT — WFSB 3 TV Meteorologists Mark Dixon with Scot Haney said they are expecting a " high impact, statewide weather event " to commence Tuesday evening and into Wednesday.
For most residents, the story will be a wind and heavy rain event, while some folks in the highest elevations of Connecticut may see snowflakes briefly mix in.
Dixon and Haney said we can expect to see cloudy skies before the storm movies in "after dark."
"Rain becomes steadier, at times heavier tonight into early tomorrow. Also, the wind gets stronger as strengthening low pressure tracks across Southern New England. Rain totals will range from 1-2′′ (the axis of heaviest could fall across SW CT). Wind gusts reach 30-40 mph (highest being measured along the shoreline and/or over the Hills of NW CT). Conditions improve as tomorrow morning progresses, from west to east. Through the afternoon hours there will be partial clearing, and the wind will begin to subside. There will likely be a large spread in temperature, too... from 40s inland to 50s along the shoreline."
