CONNECTICUT — A storm is forecast to bring snow, wind and rain to Connecticut on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, which may impact Thanksgiving travel plans for some residents.

Monday and Tuesday's weather forecast looks very similar, with temperatures only into the low 40s and dry conditions, according to the National Weather Service.

But beginning Tuesday night, snow, rain and wind gusts around 30 mph are forecast across the state, according to the weather service. The steady precipitation should end by midday Wednesday.

"The timing of the precipitation and gusty wind is when some of you might be traveling, and that’s why we issued a FIRST ALERT!" wrote, WFSB 3 TV Meteorologists Jill Gilardi with Scot Haney.

Some snow may mix in, in the most northern parts of the state, WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said. Precipitation is forecast to begin after 6 p.m. Tuesday.

"A light accumulation of snow or sleet is possible in the northern hills before precipitation changes to rain around midnight. A coating to 1′′ is possible," Gilardi and Haney wrote. "Heavier rain and stronger wind gusts develop on tomorrow night into Wednesday morning as strengthening low pressure tracks across southern New England. Rainfall amounts will range from .50′′-1′′ along and north of I-84 and 1′′-2′′ south. Winds will gust between 20-30 mph, and even 35+ mph at times. Travel weather improves from west to east after late morning and early afternoon Wednesday." (Watch/read more at WFSB 3 TV) .
