Police have charged a woman in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Waterbury in September involving a bicyclist.

Glory Sanchez, 32, of Waterbury was arrested Thursday on charges of evading responsibility involving a death, criminal misrepresentation and failure to renew registration, according to Lt. Ryan Bessette of the Waterbury Police Department .

Bessette said the charges stem from a crash on Sept. 25 around 6 a.m. when officers responded to the area of Cooke and Grove Streets on the report of a hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist.

The bicyclist, identified as 37-year-old Luis Caceras of Waterbury, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, Bessette said. On Oct. 2, Caceras succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The police department's Crash Reconstruction Unit investigated the incident and were able to find the vehicle involved and identify the driver, according to Bessette. Authorities obtained a warrant for Sanchez's arrest.

Following her arrest, Sanchez was held on a $150,000 bond and was expected to face a judge in Waterbury Superior Court on Friday.
