CLEVELAND, Ohio - Median home prices in Cuyahoga County have decreased for the second straight month as the real estate market enters its slowest season of the year.

The September median home price for the county was $188,800, according to data collected by cleveland.com. This was $5,200 lower than August when the median price was $193,000. September's price was also $12,200 lower than the peak prices during this past summer when June and July saw a median of $200,000.

Though September prices showed a cool down going into the fall, there was a $13,200 increase compared to September 2023, when the median home price was $175,000. That September price was $5,000 less than the August 2023 price and $18,000 lower than the summer peak of $193,000 in June 2023.

Last year, there was a slight increase from September to October, but from there, a steady decrease continued through January, which is typical during the slower winter months.
