PLAINFIELD, IL — Four months after receiving a tip through the National Center for Missing and Exploited (NCMEC) Cyber Tipline, Plainfield police arrested a Plainfield man on a child pornography charge after executing a search warrant at his Colonial Parkway home.

In a news release, Cmdr. Anthony Novak said police received the tip on May 24.

Plainfield police executed the search warrant with assistance from the FBI Regional Cyber Forensic Laboratory on Wednesday, and found child pornography images downloaded on a cellphone registered to 49-year-old Hernandez, according to the release.

He was taken to the Plainfield Police Department on a charge of possession of child porn before being transferred to the Will County jail.

According to jail records, Hernandez remained in custody on Friday, with a court hearing set for 9 a.m.

According to Novak, "other items identified in the search warrant capable of containing child pornography were seized and will be analyzed."
