Dashcam footage helps arrest suspect in Las Vegas murder
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas police said a taxi's dashcam captured video evidence of a shooting at a stoplight that led to the arrest of a murder suspect, according to police documents.
Keyun Watts, 25, is facing a murder charge in the death of Elvin Sejdinovic, 22, who was found suffering from gunshot wounds in his Nissan Versa late Saturday night on Oct. 5, documents stated. Las Vegas Metropolitan police received several calls about a car that had crashed on Decatur Boulevard, south of Patrick Lane.
Watts' arrest report said police identified a blue Chevrolet Camero with distinct stickers and no license plate was involved after reviewing several videos, some from surveillance cameras and others from taxicab dashcams in the area. One of the videos also showed a man later identified as Watts getting out of the vehicle to get gas an hour before the shooting.

The videos also showed that Sejdinovic's Versa made lane changes to drive south on Decatur Boulevard and then change lanes again to pull up alongside the Camero's driver's side moments before the shooting, the report said. Police also noted the area where the shooting occurred is also a common spot for street racing.
The report said police reviewed publicly posted photos and videos from Illegal Las Vegas Street "take overs and "side shows" and found a Camero matching the one involved in the murder and it showed a license plate. That information was used to track down the owner, a woman, who said she was dating Watts but had since broken up.
Watts was taken into custody one month after the shooting. Police documents said he admitted to shooting Sejdinovic but said he didn't know him and when Sejdinovic pulled up next to his car shouting and reached toward toward something, he shot him. He also told police, he threw the gun in a trash can, removed the stickers from the Camero, and took it to California for a period of time "to get the car out of town."
Watts is being held at the Clark County Detention Center.
