Dave’s Hot Chicken to open in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — Dave's Hot Chicken, which specializes in Nashville-style hot chicken, is opening its first Rhode Island restaurant in Middletown.

It's unclear exactly when the restaurant will open, however, it is listed online as a new location "coming soon" to W Main Road, where the old Plant City X used to be .

The fast-casual restaurant chain, which first opened seven years ago as a parking lot pop-up in East Hollywood , is known for its jumbo hot chicken tenders and sliders. Dave's Hot Chicken also offers homemade sides, including kale slaw, mac and cheese and seasoned French fries.

There are a number of Dave's Hot Chicken locations scattered across Massachusetts, with the closest currently being in Newton and Framingham. Franklin will also eventually become home to a Dave's Hot Chicken as well.
