DC police arrest second suspect in 2018 homicide
WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced Thursday that officers arrested a second man they believe was involved in a fatal shooting over six years ago.
Officers responded to the sounds of gunshots in the 4400 block of Livingston Road SE just before 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 18, 2018. Moments later, crews were dispatched to a nearby hospital for a man seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

Despite life-saving efforts, 44-year-old Denard Orlando Hartwell of Northeast D.C. died.
Shortly after the shooting, on Nov. 21, 2018, MPD arrested a 24-year-old man from Glenarden, Md. He was charged with First Degree Murder while Armed – Felony Murder.
Years later, on Oct. 10, 2024, officials found and arrested 28-year-old Darrion Blake of Owings Mills, Md. He was also charged with First Degree Murder While Armed – Felony murder.
