Deadline coming for Mobile County voting registration — what to know

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The deadline for voters to register to vote in Mobile County is coming up.

According to a news release from the Mobile County Probate Court, county citizens who are not registered to vote can go to the Mobile County Board of Registrars on or before Monday, Oct. 21.

The Board of Registrars Office is located on the first floor of the Mobile County Government Center at 151 Government St.

Here are the voting requirements:

  • Person must be 18 years old and a United States citizen.

  • Person must live at the address on the register application.

  • Person must not be barred from voting because of a felony conviction.

  • Person must not have been adjudged "mentally incompetent" in a court of law.

  • Someone turning 18 years old on or before Nov. 5, 2024, can register in advance of his or her birthday ahead or on the day of the deadline.

    Alabama law requires voters to vote at the poll of their precinct. Voters who need to update their voting information to reflect a name or address change should contact their Board of Registrars at 251-574-8586.
