Deputies seize 50 pounds of fentanyl and cocaine in Northern California traffic stop

(FOX40.COM) — Nearly 50 pounds of fentanyl and cocaine were found during a routine traffic stop, according to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office. Around 9:29 p.m. on Nov. 9, SCSO pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of the northbound I-5 off-ramp to Cypress Avenue in Redding. During the stop, deputies said the 31-year-old driver from Los Angeles seemed "extremely nervous." Officers said there was also a "heavy smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle" and the driver seemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. SCSO said a search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of about 50 pounds of fentanyl pills and 4 pounds of cocaine concealed inside the vehicle.
