Detroit Lions vs. Denver Broncos flexed to primetime
S.Martin3 months ago
The Detroit Lions are getting another primetime game in 2023! The Lions will host the Denver Broncos at Ford Field in Week 15, and the team announced that the game will be flexed to Saturday night at 8:15 p.m. ET and will be available on NFL Network (and likely a local network feed for customers in the Detroit area). The game was originally listed on the schedule as “to be determined” and based on the play of the Lions and Broncos (of late) it makes total sense to flex them into this coveted spot. The Lions (8-3) and Broncos (6-5) have both won three of their last four games and are both making pushes for the postseason. Detroit currently sits atop the NFC North and third in the NFC overall, while the Broncos are second in the AFC West (behind the Chiefs) and are firmly on the AFC playoff bubble. The NFL had previously listed five potential Week 15 games that could be flexed to Saturday, and on Thursday, they picked which teams would make the transition. The Minnesota Vikings will play the Cincinnati Bengals in Ohio at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Indianapolis Colts at 4:30, and then the Lions and Broncos game will close out the full day of football. Meanwhile, the NFL flexed the Chiefs vs. Patriots game out of Monday night and replaced it with Seahawks vs. Eagles.
