DeWine awards funding to ex-Delphi facility project in Kettering
KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) — Funding has been awarded to assess a former industrial complex in preparation for potential redevelopment.
According to Gov. Mike DeWine, the Montgomery County Land Bank is receiving $300,000 to assess the former Delphi facility in Kettering.
DeWine says a 1.1 million square-foot building sits of the 145-acre property. Currently, officials are considering a potential redevelopment for the property, which has caused environmental assessments to be conducted.

With the funding from DeWine, crews will be able to install the following at the site:
Groundwater monitoring wells
Soil borings
Soil gas probes
"The transformation of once-abandoned properties into vibrant, usable space not only enhances property values, it also creates a sense of renewal, making way for sustainable development," said Lt. Governor Jon Husted.
The funding for the project was made possible through the Ohio BUILDS Initiative, which helps alleviate brownfields for redevelopment.
