Disaster Recovery Center opening in Damascus, Va.
DAMASCUS, Va. (WJHL) —The Virginia Department of Emergency Management announced a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will open Monday in the Town of Damascus in Washington County.
According to a post by the department , the center will be open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Sundays. It is located at 736 N. Beaver Dam Road in Damascus. Additional DRC locations will be announced in the coming days, the department said.
The department said residents in the following localities can visit any DRC for assistance: Galax, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington and Wythe.

Understand FEMA notices or letters
Find housing and rental assistance information
Get referrals to agencies
Meet with a Small Business Administration (SBA) agent
Individual Assistance Registration Deadline– Monday, December 2.
Flood victims do not have to visit a physical DRC to apply for FEMA aid, according to the department. Individuals can call 800-621-FEMA (3362) seven days a week.
"If you use a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, give FEMA the number for that service," the post states, in regard to accessible contacting.
Flood victims can also register online at DisasterAssistance.gov or through the FEMA App.
