Disgruntled Packers wide receiver could be sleeper trade candidate for Steelers

S.Wright29 min ago
DDisgruntled Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs was suspended by the Packers for their game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. The suspension is for missing the last two practices of the week, with reports stating that Doubs is unsatisfied with his role in the passing offense. Doubs is third on the team in targets, but in recent weeks, the Packers have seen Jayden Reed, Josh Jacobs, and others take more of the work from Doubs.

That adds the intriguing young Packers wide receiver to the potential list of trade candidates . NFL insider Jonathan Jones stated that teams have already called about Doubs and were told the Packers are not trading him. The Packers expect to move on from the situation, but if that does not happen, a trade might be coming down the pike.

The Pittsburgh Steelers would likely be in those sweepstakes. Doubs, a 2022 fourth-round pick out of Nevada, is a solid outside wide receiver that would give the Steelers a clear No. 2 option across from George Pickens.

The Steelers are pursuing Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams and were in the sweepstakes to acquire 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk before he re-signed with the 49ers ahead of the season.

Pittsburgh is looking for wide receiver help and Doubs could be a name that is intriguing. In a trade scenario, Doubs is still on his rookie contract, and has two years left on his deal.
