DNC Places Pre-Debate Digital Billboards At Madison Square Garden Tying JD Vance To Project 2025

The Democratic National Committee is perhaps giving a bit of a preview of what to expect from tonight's vice presidential debate between Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN).

New digital ads went up outside of Madison Square Garden that slam Vance as the "poster boy" for Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation game plan for the next administration.

Trump has tried to distance himself from Project 2025, the 922-page proposal that calls for further restrictions on abortions, moving to a national sales or consumption tax, eliminating the Department of Education and reclassifying federal employees as political appointees, among other things.

Democrats have hammered Trump and Vance on Project 2025, as a number of its authors were part of the former president's administration. After Harris brought it up, Trump disavowed it at the debate, even though he has expressed support for some of its proposal, like the reclassification of federal employees and mass deportations.

Vance wrote the forward to a book by Kevin Roberts, the president of the Heritage Foundation. The publication of the book, Dawn's Early Light: Taking Back Washington to Save America, has been delayed until after the election.

The VP debate will take place at CBS Broadcast Center in Manhattan, with Norah O'Donnell and Margaret Brennan as moderators. The rules will be similar to the presidential debate — no audience, two minute initial answers, closing statements — but candidate mics will remain on throughout.
