“Do You Even Want to Play”: NY Jets Told to Question Aaron Rodgers as NFL Analyst Decides 40-YO QB’s Future

If only memes were a format of communication in real, professional life, this story could have been easier to tell. But it's not and we still need to talk about what's going on in the Meadowlands with Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. The 4x MVP came out of his "darkness retreat" and now the New York Jets are in "darkness." The Jets are 3 and 7 right now and the real question is, does that blame go to Aaron Rodgers? Or does it go to the former head coach Robert Saleh, who called A-Rod out for his cadence? Or Mike Williams, for instance, who supposedly ran a wrong route in the loss to the ? It might not be apparent, but the Jets' locker room might be turning against the former SB winner. It seems like people who try to question Rodgers, get shipped off. That was the topic of conversation on Jason Whitlock's latest podcast that was titled, "Aaron Rodgers Sucks The Air Out Of The Room In New York." We're not going to sit here and act like everything that's happening with the Jets is A-Rod's fault. He is an amazing QB and did show flashes of brilliance here and there, but the effort didn't seem consistent. In another instalment of "Who's to blame for NYJ's abhorrent season?" many fans and analysts took a jab at Sauce Gardner for missed tackles in the 2023 season after the loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The Jets CB was passive aggressive and sarcastic while defending himself for a missed tackle on Trey McBride, pointing out that the "costliest miss" was "100%" his fault. However, he deleted the post later. But his jersey looked clean AF after the game, so that's a bit suspicious. To that end, let's talk about the offense, since this is about Aaron Rodgers . He came out with 22 of his 35 passes landing on target over 151 yards and didn't score a touchdown. Well, what about the other topflight Jets like Davante Adams, Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson? Nada. The Jets went from "two score" lead with Saleh to a no score loss. Clearly, there's trouble in paradise. Another thing to talk about here is Davante Adams and A-Rod's connection in the Cardinals game. They didn't connect in the first half. The Jets had a chance to get back into the game in the second half, but Rodgers missed #17 twice. Seems like Aaron Rodgers is not "all in" on the Jets. That's what the former NFL receiver TJ Moe thought of his performance so far. Per Moe, the Jets locker room should be perplexed and looking up to Rodgers for guidance. Instead, there seems to be a divide. The Jets QB calling out his players and coaches in public is not good optics. "Everybody who's ever played with a guy who's not all in feels it. And are these guys looking around like 'Aaron, we suck, and you might be the reason why. You didn't show up to anything, you're not that interested, you're talking about running for Vice President, you're going on The Joe Rogan Podcast. Do you even want to play football? Because if not, we'll take the less talented guy that actually wants to be here,'" TJ Moe said in the episode of Fearless . Per the former NFL receiver, Moe, it's the "easiest way" the locker room can turn on A-Rod. Only if the 4x MVPs trouble stopped here. There are many others with hot takes on what's going on with the New York Jets.Get a load of this guy, he thinks Aaron Rodgers is finished... First Things First (pun intended), do you think Rodgers will play in the NFL next year? Is he about to retire after this season? The way things are going, he might not want to have ties with the Jets next year. Most importantly, who in their sane mind would join the NYJ, seeing what's going on with the franchise? But check out Chris Broussard's hot take on Aaron Rodgers and his position in the New York Jets. "Yeah, I think he's done," Broussard said. "First of all, he shouldn't want to come back. I get it, maybe his pride. But I think he'd be smart to be like, 'I've had a great career, I'm freaking 41 years old — about to be — I'll call it quits.'" The FS1 analyst then pointed out how the Packers became a good, playoff worthy team as soon as Aaron Rodgers got up and left. Coincidence? People can say all sorts of things about A-Rod, but the reality is, he's talented as heck, albeit he's been a bit underwhelming these days. In contrast, however, numbers don't lie and whether people like it or not, the Jets are 3-7. To put everything in perspective, the New York team finished 7-10 last year with Zach Wilson. So, what's the problem here? Has Aaron Rodgers really sucked the air out of the building? It's too early to say. Let's watch the rest of the Jets' season unfold. There's one more thing that we'd like you to think about. Woody Johnson was Donald Trump's UK Ambassador during his term a couple of years ago and there are chances that he might take that job once again. If that happens, the ownership of the Jets will fall into the hands of his brother, Christopher Johnson, who might want to change things around. Till then, all we can do is wait.
