BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Never mind the gigantic signs telling customers that pets are prohibited in area Publix stores, the (allegedly) rude dog owners who live in and visit Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and beyond are out in full force. Welcome to Sunday's edition of Boca RudetonTM, featuring not just Publix, but Starbucks and 3G's Gourmet Deli in Delray Beach, too.

We start with the photo at the top of this page. It's the Publix at Glades Road and U.S. 441. That's where our tipster saw the woman and her beautifully coiffed doggy, following her through the supermarket. Unfortunately, only of them is legally supposed to be there. We'll let you figure out which one.

Our next Boca Rudeton nominee is the woman, below, seen at 3G's deli (5869 W. Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach). We, of course, do not know what she was thinking when she brought the dog into a restaurant, but our tipster was thinking that it seemed odd. The tipster pondered if the woman knows that it's against the law to bring a dog into an restaurant unless it's a true service animal trained to perform a specific function. It's also against the law to lie about your dog's training.

Next up is an example of why Starbucks is having financial problems nationwide. The stores look like pet shops. In the photo below, you see a woman with her dog in the Starbucks in the Canyons in Boynton Beach. We don't know why the dog is there or what function it is trained to provide.

Back to Publix we go. First, a Publix on West Palmetto Park Road. Our tipster in this store wants to know why the woman doesn't just have a dog in the store, but is carrying it a "lick level" for the fresh produce that's sitting out. It's a legitimate question. If the woman seen here would like to answer, feel free to drop us a line. We're happy to publish your comments.

And our final Boca Rudeton entry this Sunday is the woman seen, below, at the Publix in Woodfield Shopping Center. We're not sure if that's a dog, a small pig, or a rat on the leash, but we do question whether or not it's a trained service animal that has the ability to perform a specific lifesaving function. If it does, we'd ask the woman to reach out to us so we can do a story on this amazing animal that certainly should legally be in Publix, despite huge signs reminding people to leave their pets at home.

So who is our winner this week? It's a tough one. But our judges have met, debated, decided, and came to this unanimous decision: the woman with the dog at 3G's Gourmet Deli in Delray Beach is our latest Boca RudetonTM winner. What does she win? Well... as our readers know, we don't really give out prizes, but if we did: this woman would win a very special bagel that's been licked by a beagle. Yes, it's the highly coveted "Beagle Bagel" — a special gift from your friends at BocaNewsNow.com.
