Dolphins star Raheem Mostert ruled doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks may not be facing one of the Miami Dolphins' most potent offensive weapons in the teams' Week 3 matchup on Sunday.

Running back Raheem Mostert sustained a chest injury in Miami's season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars and did not appear in last week's Thursday Night Football matchup versus the Buffalo Bills.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel was not feeling good about Mostert's chances of returning to the lineup on Sunday.

"I am an optimistic person and so I would say I'd be pessimistic that he'd play," McDaniel said (via ESPN ). "Which is telling, but I can't rule it out."

The 32-year-old running back surpassed 1,000 rushing yards last season, leading Miami in rushing yards, and tied with Christian McCaffrey for the league lead in touchdowns. For his efforts, Mostert earned his first Pro Bowl selection.

In addition to Mostert's doubtful availability, Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose has been ruled out due to a shoulder ailment suffered during Week 2's game against Buffalo. Between these losses and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa being placed on IR with a concussion, Miami's offense will be a bit depleted when the team comes to Seattle this weekend.

The Seahawks will face the Dolphins at home on Sunday, hoping to start the season 3-0 for the first time since 2020.
