Donald Trump Jr. Ridicules Kamala Harris' 2020 Victory Response
Donald Trump Jr. appeared to mock Kamala Harris ' response to Joe Biden 's victory in 2020, posting on social media, "We did it Joe!!!" to celebrate his father's presidential win.
It harks back to footage of Harris on a phone call with Biden on November 7, 2020, after it was announced he had won that year's presidential election cycle.
In the video, which accumulated more than 24 million views on the vice president's Instagram account, she started by saying, "We did it Joe."
The comment spread across social media and became a viral meme used by Democrat voters to express a positive reaction to the election outcome.
Her full quote, which continued, "You're going to be the next president of the United States" also became a trending sound on TikTok , where some users mocked Harris' tone at the time.
Trump Jr.'s post on X, formerly Twitter , came in the early hours of Wednesday morning after his father declared himself the winner of the election with 267 electoral college votes to Harris' 224, meaning he needed just one more out of four uncalled swing states to achieve the 270 electoral college votes needed to become president.
Shortly after, the Associated Press declared him the winner after a victory in Wisconsin tipped him over to 277 electoral college votes.
Trump Jr.'s comment was posted alongside a post from Biden's account from February of this year which read, "Just like we drew it up" and featured an image of Biden with laser beams coming out of his eyes known as the "Dark Brandon" meme, which was originally used by conservatives in opposition to Biden but was later reclaimed by Democrats .
Biden's post, which came just after the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl, was interpreted as poking fun at conspiracy theories that the NFL was rigging the game to support Taylor Swift endorsing the Democrats , given her relationship with Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce .
Trump Jr's post has accumulated more than 1 million views since it was posted.
Newsweek has contacted the Harris campaign out of hours via email for comment.
Other X users have also reshared the 2020 video following Trump's win in an apparent attempt to troll Harris. Recent comments have also popped up under the video on her Instagram account referencing her loss.
Trump Jr. has been supporting his father throughout the campaign, most recently making an appearance at a last-minute Pennsylvania rally the day before the election.
