has been waiting for a second chance with Jennifer Lopez , and now that she's about to be single again amid her divorce from Ben Affleck , a source exclusively tells In Touch that Drake and J. Lo have been in regular contact, exchanging flirty late-night calls and texts.

"As soon as she filed the papers, Drake reached out," the insider continues. "He was very sweet and told her what a fool Ben is for letting her get away, and then he quickly let her know he's ready and willing to step in and satisfy her."

The "HYFR" rapper, 37, and "Jenny From the Block" songstress, 55, were first romantically linked in 2016, after sharing cozy photos on Instagram and being spotted kissing in videos at a prom-themed party. Months later, the New York native admitted that they were "hanging out" in February 2017, but did not delve further into the specifics of their relationship.

"They have their own history and a lot of chemistry, so it really did a lot to make her smile," the source says. "Getting that kind of attention when she was feeling so low was exactly what she needed. Now they're texting every day and things are getting hot."

The insider explains that Jennifer's "guards are up" as she is "well aware" of Drake's player ways. While J. Lo may "not putting him in the relationship category," the source adds that Drake "definitely meets her needs for a hook-up."

"He's very intelligent and romantic and she can count on him being discreet because he's always kept her secrets in the past," the insider continues. "It's still in the sexting stage but she loves hearing from him and sharing sexy selfies, he's very quick to compliment her and he lays it on thick."

When Jennifer's ready to take things to the next level with Canadian rapper, the source says Drake is prepared to "drop everything and meet her wherever she wants," adding, "It's just a matter of her being in the right head space."

Jennifer is a single woman following her split from the Batman actor, 52. In Touch was the first to report that the A-list couple was headed for a split in May. The Wedding Planner actress filed for divorce from Ben on August 20 — a date that coincidentally fell on the two-year anniversary of their lavish Georgia nuptials — and listed their date of separation as April 26.

Ben and Jen have a long history, first beginning their love story in the early 2000s and were set to walk down the aisle in 2003 before abruptly canceling their wedding and breaking up. Nearly 20 years later, the pair rekindled their romance and eloped in July 2022, hosting a formal wedding ceremony one month later.

The "Love Don't Cost a Thing" songstress broke her silence on her split in a sit-down interview with Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine, telling the comedian it felt "lonely, unfamiliar and scary."

"It feels desperate," Jennifer said told the outlet on October 9. "But when you sit in those feelings and go, 'These things are not going to kill me,' it's like, actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself. Being in a relationship doesn't define me. I can't be looking for happiness in other people."

She opened up about her dating plans and said she wasn't "looking for anybody" now that she's newly single.

"For people who are romantics and love being in relationships and want to grow old with somebody, we think, 'I have to have that to be whole and happy.' And you don't," she explained, confessing that her two-year marriage to Ben didn't unfold as she had envisioned.

"I was thinking about this time in my life, and I'm like, 'That's not what I thought it was going to turn out like.' And then I thought, 'No, this is exactly where I needed to be, to lead me to where I want to go,'" the New York native explained. "That doesn't mean it didn't almost take me out for good. It almost did. But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, "F–k, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, god. I'm sorry it took me so long. I'm sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago."
