Driver Fatally Strikes Pedestrian in Hollywood, Drives Away

Police Friday are searching for the driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in Hollywood and drove away.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Division were called at 10 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of Franklin and North Van Ness avenues where the victim lying in the roadway, NBC4 reported.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were called to the scene and took the victim to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
According to reports from the scene, the driver who struck the pedestrian drove away and did not render aid. The car was described as a late model gray or green Mini Cooper.
The victim's name, age or gender were not immediately known.
