Driver flees Visalia crash that leaves homes without power

VISALIA, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Law enforcement is searching for the driver they say fled the scene of a crash early Sunday morning, Visalia Police say.

Around 3 a.m., the department says it received an iPhone-detected traffic collision alert in the 2400 block of North Akers Street, north of Ferguson Avenue.

Officers say they arrived to find a white Mustang that had crashed into a telephone pole, severing it at the base.

As a result, several homes in the area were left without power.

Investigators say the vehicle's driver was nowhere to be found and believe the person left prior to their arrival.
