Driver ticketed after hitting, injuring teen bicyclist on Far East Side, Madison police say

A driver was ticketed after hitting and injuring a 14-year-old bicyclist on the Far East Side on Friday, Madison police reported.
The crash happened in the area of Cottage Grove Road and South Thompson Drive about 5:20 p.m. Friday, police officer and spokesperson Stephanie Fryer said in a statement.
The boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, Fryer said.
The driver remained on scene and was "emotional and concerned" for the teen, Fryer said.
The driver agreed to a consensual blood draw and phone search and was ticketed for failure to yield causing bodily harm, Fryer said.
