Dry and mild weather sticking around through the work week
J.Martin3 months ago
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - It was a sensational Sunday with lots of sun and unseasonably warm temperatures. Highs today climbing into the mid and upper 60s with a few spots the south reaching the 70 degree club. Good news is that the dry and mild weather is going to stick around through the rest of this work week. Just a few breezy days with a disturbance Tuesday and a cold front sometime Thursday. Behind a cold front that moved through earlier today, an area of high pressure will move in overhead tonight. This will allow for clear skies and light winds which will lead to a chillier night tonight than what we saw last night. Low temperatures to start off your Monday morning will dip into the low to mid 30s for most with some mid 20s in southwest spots. Winds tomorrow morning will start off light. But as that area of high pressure moves off to our east, winds will pick up in the afternoon out of the south between 10 and 20 mph with gusts to near 25 mph. Lots of sunshine tomorrow with highs in the mid to upper 60s. As mentioned briefly above, a disturbance will move through the area on Tuesday. This will produce some clouds and kick up winds a bit more making for a windy day Tuesday. Winds will be anywhere from 15 to 25 mph sustained with gusts to around 35 mph. Highs Tuesday will be similar to Monday climbing into the mid to upper 60s with a few spots possibly reaching the low 70s. Dry and mild weather continues through the rest of the week. A cold front will push through the area Thursday making for a partly sunny and breezy day. Temperatures will be slightly cooler for the rest of the week but still well above average. Changes look to come in the middle of next weekend as a low moves out of the four corners region bringing a chance widespread rain and much cooler weather. Depending on the temperature profile, there is a chance some could see a wintry mix in western and northern parts of the state. Still too early to nail down the timing and impacts with this system as we are many days out.
