Dusk Music Festival hosts after-party during U of A Red-Blue game

Dusk Charities, the nonprofit arm of the Dusk Music Festival , is hosting an afterparty for the University of Arizona Wildcats annual Red-Blue scrimmage on Friday, Oct. 4.

But "POST/Move — Red/Blue Showcase After Party & Fundraiser" to benefit the men's NIL fund is technically a "during" party.

The event, which will raise money for the team's Name, Image and Likeness fund to be paid to players, gets underway at Gentle Ben's Brewery, 865 E. University Blvd. in Main Gate, and runs from 6 p.m. to midnight

The Wildcats will play the showcase, which is the first time fans get a look at the 2024 team, at 6 p.m. at McKale Center, about a 10-minute walk from Main Gate.

"POST/Move" will include a live stream of the game and, organizers say, a few perks you won't get at McKale.

The $165 tax-deductible ticket price includes food, two drink tickets and performances by a trio of national DJs:

  • Phoenix-based Z-Trip (Zach Selacca) is best known for pioneering the mashup movement that is still all the rage.
  • Mix Master Mike was the turntablist for 1980s hip-hop trio Beastie Boys.
  • Trackstar the DJ toured around the world with the hip-hop duo Run the Jewels from 2015-18.
  • Former UA baller Gilbert Arenas, who played for the Wildcats from 1999-2001 before embarking on a 12-year NBA career, will host the event.

After the game, members of the men's team are expected to host a meet-and-greet at Gentle Ben's, said Ben Andersen, Dusk Music Festival's chief operating officer.

Andersen said Friday's event is the Dusk charitable arm's first major fundraiser, although the organization has given money to other local causes.

"It's obviously a new development in the college athletic programs to have the name, image and likeness be a part of college athletics," Andersen said. "We wanted to partner closely with the university athletics program specifically the men's basketball program."

Dusk Music Festival will host its eighth festival Nov. 9-10 at downtown's Jácome Plaza. The lineup includes Kaskade, Quinn XCII, Masego and Steve Aoki. For tickets and details, visit duskmusicfestival.com .
