Dylan Raiola Warns Football Community About Brother Dayton Amid High School Exploits: “He Different”

Y'all remember Dylan RaiolaMatt Rhule's magnum opus? He had quite the start of the season. Going on that turf as a true freshman, Raiola quickly made a name for himself after he got the Huskers 3 massive wins against UTEP, Buffs, and Northern Iowa. These weren't small wins as well. Huskers averaged 30+ points in every game and Dylan Raiola, with his presence from the pocket, quickly became the new talk of the town. But who could've thought that putting a freshman on that turf would come back to bite Rhule this badly? The Cornhuskers have fallen from grace. With a 5-4 run, the team that was once aiming for the playoffs won't even make it to the Bowl games.

While Dylan has failed Rhule and the Huskers fanbase, can someone else from the Raiola family bring back the Nebraska flair in 2025? We do have a pick. Dylan Raiola took to his Instagram story to share a snap of his brother, Dayton Raiola. "Lil bro been ballin. He different," Dylan mentioned. Let's talk about Dayton. Another 3-star QB coming from the Raiola family and hard-committed to Nebraska.

Playing for Buford, this guy has already managed to collect quite the stats. 1121 yards under his belt with 12 TD passes and a completion rate of 70%. 247Sports has marked this kid as the 634-ranked QB in the entire nation for the 2026 class.

Back in September, we got the news that Dayton has pledged his allegiance to Rhule and Co. and will be playing for Huskers in the 2026 season. Now, here is the thing. Dropping him on the turf in 2026 is something Rhule has to rethink. The decision to use Raiola has already cost the team a chance to make it big this season.

While Dayton is good, no one knows if he will follow the same path as Dylan. Huskers fans can only hope that this commitment doesn't turn into a pain in 2026. However, for now, what we should focus on is Raiola's future in Nebraska. See, the decline in performance is very clear, but is it only happening because Raiola is still new and is facing much more experienced players? This guy stood his ground against a roster like the Buffs. So what is even happening?

Dylan Raiola injury theory No, he is not an alien or something. Back on November 4th, the r/Huskers subreddit brought up an interesting discussion surrounding Dylan and his degrading performance. "I think he's hurt but the staff collectively thinks his 75% is still better than Haarberg," was the main theory the Reddit user brought up. Dylan's overall presence from the pocket and his throws and accuracy have tanked.

He does not look like the same dude who was making split-second plays in the face of defenders during the Buffs showdown. Against Purdue, he brought out his worst performance. A completion rate of 48% with barely landing 13 out of 27 passes.

People on Reddit have theorized that Raiola could be suffering from a shoulder injury. It kind of makes sense if that is the case. The quick slants or zone breaks and almost every long pass Raiola has made feels like he has no arm strength left for it. Either it is this or Rhule is exerting too much pressure on a freshman QB. Let's just hope the staff figure things out.
