I’ve been through some situations with Brock, not just the game but practice. But I think he’s as good as any quarterback I’ve had in the rain. He’s dealt with it a lot at Iowa State . The 49ers’ man coverage defense has been almost the exact opposite, as they’ve allowed a league-worst 15.1 yards per reception and a first down or a touchdown on 43.8% of man coverage snaps (11th worst). A.J. Brown has dominated both man and zone coverages, ranking fifth in fantasy points per route run against man (0.84) and 15th against zone (0.46). DeVonta Smith hasn’t seen a very encouraging target rate versus man coverage, causing him to drop outside the top 50 wide receivers (minimum of 30 routes run) in fantasy points per route run (0.35). Smith should still see plenty of zone coverage, though, against the 49ers where his target rate (20%) and fantasy points per route run rank (tied for 28th) are more encouraging. I will note that while some EPA-based analysis around the Internet felt came out with a result that the Eagles won on Sunday despite being outplayed by the Bills, DVOA did not have this result. The Eagles had a single-game DVOA of 28% compared to 0% for the Bills. In our Post-Game Win Expectancy formula (explained here), the Eagles come out with an 86% chance to win given the statistical splits of this game. Two of the big reasons why: that last overtime drive and all those Bills penalties throughout the game. The primary target should be the Bears, who notched a fourth win by upsetting the Vikings on Monday night. If they win another game, the Commanders can overtake them and claim the fourth overall pick simply by losing out. The Bears have a very good chance to get a fifth win when they play the Cardinals (2-10) in Week 16. Their next weakest opponents are the Falcons (5-6) and Packers (5-6). Moving any higher than fourth in the draft order will be very challenging.
