In the Eagles' 28-23 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Barkley rushed for 159 yards and a touchdown. During the second quarter, he caught a pass and ran past Jaguars cornerback Tyson Campbell . Then he put a spin move on linebacker Devin Llyod before performing a reverse leap over rookie cornerback Jarrian Jones .

Barkley's reverse leap impressed his teammates and former NFL players.

"This was as great a play that I've seen a running back make in all my years," NFL Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe said on ESPN .

Through nine weeks, Barkley has amassed 925 rushing yards, the second-most in the NFL. Ravens running back Derrick Henry leads the league with 1,052 yards, but he has played one more game than Barkley. If Barkley can surpass Henry as the league's leading rusher, he might be the favorite to win Offensive Player of the Year and could be in the MVP conversation.

Barkley also won NFC Player of the Week after Week 1 and after Week 7. He rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' Week 1 victory over the Packers and rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown in their Week 7 win over the Giants.

Barkley, who signed a three-year deal with the Eagles during the offseason, has nine games left to make his MVP case.
