Early-morning fire leads to barn collapse in Dauphin County
A Londonderry Township barn collapsed after catching fire early Tuesday morning.
Londonderry Township firefighters were called to the fire in the area of Colebrook Road and School House Road around 4 a.m., dispatch confirmed.
Firefighters on scene told CBS 21 the blaze caused the entire barn to collapse, burning all the hay that had been inside.
No animals were injured in the collapse.
As of 11 a.m., crews were using excavators to clear out the burnt hay. Firefighters said it may still be a few hours until they're able to clear the scene.
PennDOT reports that Colebrook Road, or PA 341, is closed in both directions between Toll House Road and Kennedy Lane due to fire department activity. Troopers are on scene directing traffic, state police said.
