El Paso City Council races head to runoff, voters to decide on December 14
Several El Paso City Council seats are headed to runoff elections as none of the candidates were able to secure 50 percent of the votes needed to win their seats outright.
In the race for City Rep for District 1:
After four candidates were hoping to represent El Paso's westside and upper valley, now Alejandra Chavez and Monica Reyes will face off in a runoff election.
For District 3:
Four candidates were vying to represent east El Paso and the Lower Valley, but now only Jose Rodriguez and Deanna Maldonado-Rocha will continue to face off in a runoff.
District 4:
Current northeast El Paso City Rep. Joe Molinar first faced three challengers but after Tuesday, Molinar will now just face Cynthia Boyar-Trejo.
District 5:
Ivan Niño and Amanda Cunningham will face off in a runoff to represent east and far east El Paso.
The run-off election will be held on December 14.
