El Pasoans hit the road for Thanksgiving amid low gas prices
The day before Thanksgiving it's a busy travel day for the Borderland.
Many in El Paso took the roads to spend time with their loved ones.
Gas prices are the lowest they've been in two years, according to AAA.
CBS4 spoke with several El Pasoans who are driving elsewhere and other Texans who made a pit stop in El Paso before continuing their road trip.
"I love it. It's awesome," Diana Gonzalez, who has family from California in town is making a drive up to Ruidoso, New Mexico, said.
"Gas prices are good right now to get on the road and drive," said Carlos Davila, who will be visiting his children in Denver.
About 3.7 million Texas drivers are hitting the road for Thanksgiving, according to AAA.
Those drivers in Texas can be thankful to fill up with the cheapest gas prices in the nation.

Doug Lypeck an El Pasoan who will be driving to Marble Fall, Texas said regardless of how the gas prices are looking drivers will have no other choice but to pay.
"It will be fine. I got a car that gets 45 miles a gallon. My wife gets a little bit less like 30. So I don't worry that much," Lypeck said.
Statewide gas prices in Texas are averaging $2.75, according to AAA and it's why many filled up at gas stations in El Paso before they continued their holiday travel.
"Gas prices have been pretty good. It’s kind of nice to be able to travel and not break the bank. Not having to fly and spend hundreds of dollars on that," Matthew Ferguson said.
Ferguson and his family are traveling to Tucson, Arizona from Austin, Texas.
They took a break at Fort Stockton and then spent a night in El Paso before heading out.
"We got the whole crew. The baby. The dog. The whole grandparents. It’s a nice family trip," Ferguson said.
For the family of six packing up a car was a cheaper option than flying and they said the extra time spent together on the road makes for a great time.
"It’s cheaper. That’s a big expense and honestly, it’s a fun time in the car together. We get to actually talk and chat and catch up and not on social media. Not dealing with work. It’s family time," Stacy Ferguson said.
