DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Voters in Montgomery County have chosen to approve a levy for local libraries.

A proposed tax levy to support the Dayton Metro Library has passed. The levy received 100,050 "yes" votes and 89,151 "no" votes.

The levy will ensure the Library continues to offer youth and family services, resources for job seekers, free Wi-Fi, computers and more.

Dayton Metro Library hasn't asked for a operating levy in 15 years. The proposed 5-year, 1-mil levy on the November ballot amounts to 67 cents per week per $100,000 of property value.
