Elizabeth (Betsy) Meko, 63, of Mountaintop died Tuesday morning at
Geisinger Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
She was born Nov. 8, 1940 in Wilkes-Barre. She was a graduate of Hanover
Memorial High School, class of 1959 and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, 1960,
as a licensed practical nurse. She worked at Valley Crest and the White Haven
hospital for retardation. She was a member of St. Jude’s Roman Catholic
Church, Mountain Top.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Nicolas and Elizabeth
(Gilroy) Meko.

Survivors are brothers Nicolas of California; and Gerald of Edwardsville.
Also a niece and nephew in Ohio.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from The Desiderio Funeral
Inc., 436 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountaintop, Pennsylvania with a mass of
Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Jude’s Roman Catholic Church, Mountaintop,
Pennsylvania.
