Elon Musk set for town hall in Delaware County on Thursday

Obituaries submitted on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays are accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. by email only

Obituaries received after Deadline will not be published in the following edition of the paper.

Sending Procedure:

Email is the preferable method for receiving Obituaries (and the only method on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays), they can be sent to (Feel free to call and confirm that we've received the email)

Formatting:

Obituaries will continue to visually look the same as they currently do, but you will no longer be restricted in what you can say (ex. As much Family can be listed as you'd like; Wording like "Went to rest with the Lord" is now permissible)

Other:

There is a cost for each obituary. Pricing and payments are only available Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. All weekend and holiday submissions will be provided a cost the next business day.

Exceptions:

All New accounts, Out of State Funeral Homes and Private Parties will require prepayment upon approval of the obituary. Weekend and Holiday staff are not authorized to set up a new account or process payments

Deadline for the above is before 4:00 PM Mon – Fri. only (Holiday schedules may vary).

Prepayment required submissions will be handled on the very first business day following the weekend and/or holiday schedule. A complete name, address and best contact phone number are required upon submittal of your obituary request to set up your account. A proof will then be emailed for review but placed on hold until payment is received.

Pennsylvania Capital-Star

Tesla CEO and X, formerly known as Twitter, owner Elon Musk will host a series of "town halls" in Pennsylvania beginning on Thursday. The series of town halls is hosted by America PAC, which is a pro-Trump organization founded by Musk.

"Currently, I have 3 talks scheduled in Pennsylvania, but will probably do half a dozen throughout the state," Musk wrote on X early Thursday morning .

The first town hall is scheduled to take place in Folsom, Delaware County, on Thursday afternoon. Harrisburg and Pittsburgh are also listed on the PAC's website for upcoming town halls, although no dates and times were available as of Thursday morning. It is unclear if these town halls will be open to the press or livestreamed, or whether there will be question-and-answer sessions.

In order to attend, participants must be registered voters in Pennsylvania, and have to sign a petition which states that "the First and Second Amendments guarantee freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. By signing below, I am pledging my support for the First and Second Amendments." Those who sign the petition receive $47 for each registered voter they refer who also signs the petition.

Musk, who has been a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump's campaign over the past few months, joined Trump on stage at a rally in Butler on Oct. 5. Musk and Trump have said he'd campaign for him throughout Pennsylvania leading up to the presidential election.

Campaign finance records show that Musk gave around $75 million to America PAC . According to the PAC's website, it was created to "support candidates who champion Secure Borders, Sensible Spending, Safe Cities, Fair Justice System, Free Speech and Self-Protection."

The Philadelphia suburbs, which is hosting the first Musk town hall, has been home to several high profile campaign events over the past few days.

On Monday, Trump hosted a town hall in Montgomery County , although he only answered five audience questions before cutting the event short after two medical emergencies in the audience. Trump then stood on stage for approximately 30 minutes swaying along to songs from his playlist.

Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party's candidate for president, was in Bucks County on Wednesday for a speech focused on winning over disaffected Republicans.

Oct. 21 is Pennsylvania's voter registration deadline for the Nov. 5 general election. The deadline to apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot is Oct. 29.
