Environmental Institute Sets Spring Lecture Series
Lackawanna College’s Environmental Institute will present a spring series of seminars and lectures on nature and environmental topics as well as nature walks beginning running through May. The events will be held over 10 weeks at the Institute on the Moffat Estate in Covington Township. The cost is $3 for each event.
The Environmental Institute is a research and teaching resource for the college, providing support and consulting services to government agencies, municipalities, environmental organizations, and corporate, industrial and commercial entities. It also offers environmental education programs to schools and to the general public.
The dates and subjects of the spring lecture series include: “Tour Our National Parks,” with Jane Frye, Tuesday, April 8, 7 p.m.; “Vermicomposting,” with Barbara Giovagnoli, Thursday, April 17, 7 p.m.; and “Butterflies,” with Rick Mikula, Thursday, May 8, 6:30 p.m.
Nature walks on the trails of the Moffat Estates are sceduled for Wednesday, April 23; Tuesday, April 29; Monday, May 12; Wednesday, May 21; and Wednesday, May 28.
