49ers vs. Seahawks: Updated Odds, Money Line, Spread, Props to Watch for TNF
E.Chen3 months ago
- Thearon W. Henderson/ The good news for the Seahawks is that they'll have home-field advantage in prime time on a short week. The bad news is that the 49ers seemingly got right during the bye and again look like a championship-caliber team on both sides of the ball.
Having Deebo Samuel back has certainly helped offensively, and Brock Purdy has returned to form with him in the lineup. Purdy was nearly flawless in Week 11, finishing with a perfect 158.3 passer rating.
Between Samuel, Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle, San Francisco can find a mismatch of just about every play. That's going to be a problem for Seattle's 23rd-ranked defense.
The worse news for the Seahawks is that quarterback Geno Smith and running back Kenneth Walker III are dealing with injuries. Walker appears likely to miss the game with an oblique injury, but Smith could be on the field despite a triceps injury.
"He's gonna play," head coach Pete Carroll said on his radio show (h/t Brent Stecker of Seattle Sports).
If Smith is at less than 100 percent, it could cause issues against San Francisco's new pass-rushing tandem of Chase Young and Nick Bosa.
While Seattle can field a functional offense with DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Noah Fant and rookie running back Zack Charbonnet, the 49ers have the far superior skill group, the more consistent defense and the healthier quarterback.
While an energized environment can help keep Seattle in the game early, San Francisco has all the pieces needed to pull away in the second half.
Prediction: San Francisco 30, Seattle 20
