ESPN reports dates for Tennessee's games against Oklahoma, Alabama next season
Oklahoma football will make its debut in the Southeastern Conference next season against Tennessee on September 21 at Memorial Stadium, ESPN’s Chris Low reported on Monday . It will be Josh Heupel’s return to Norman to face the Sooners, where he starred at quarterback and spent 10 years as an assistant coach.
Low also reported that Tennessee and Alabama’s ‘Third Saturday in October’ rivalry will continue to live up to its name next season with the Vols and Crimson Tide set to play on October 19 next season.
The SEC in June announced 2024 opponents for SEC teams in the new 16-team league, with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma, but have not yet announced the week-by-week schedule.
Tennessee will play road games at Arkansas, at Georgia and at Vanderbilt, along with the trip to Oklahoma. The Vols will play SEC home games against Alabama, Florida, Kentucky and Mississippi State.
Four dates have already been announced for Tennessee’s 2024 schedule. The Vols open the season against Chattanooga on August 31 at Neyland Stadium, then go to Charlotte to face North Carolina State in a neutral-site game on September 7 at Bank Of America Stadium.
Tennessee then returns home to face Kent State on September 14. UTEP will be the homecoming game on November 23.
