ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. (WCAX) - Police say a man claimed to have an explosive device when he robbed a bank in Essex Junction. It happened just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the KeyBank on Pearl Street. Officers say a man told a teller he had an explosive device and demanded cash. Police are looking for a white man with a slender build, between 5′9′′ and 6′′, with brown hair and brown eyes. "A lot of people noticed he was carrying a large, reusable grocery bag. We had someone call in and saw that specifically. It was a good lead we followed up on," Essex Police Det. Cpl. Brett Williger said. Investigators say no customers were in the bank at the time and no one was injured. The robber got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
