Eunice Sandhaus, of Silver Spring, Md., died Wednesday at the Hebrew Home
of Greater Washington, D.C.
She was the widow of the late Rabbi Morris A. Sandhaus. Born in Tarrytown,
N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Samuel K. and Lillian Cohen Schwalb.
Prior to retirement, she was a high school business education teacher in the
Prince Georges County, Md., School District.
She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Markowitz and her husband, Dr. Sidney
Markowitz of Potomac, Md.; a son, Rabbi Samuel K. Sandhaus, Executive Director
of the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa., Scranton, and his wife Sonia, Scranton. She
is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral and interment was held Thursday in Washington, D.C.
Shiva is being observed at the residence of her son, Rabbi Samuel K.
Sandhaus, 1124 Myrtle St., Scranton, beginning today through Tuesday.
