Euro 2025: Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland go to play-offs

It was a big night for national football teams in the UK, as Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland got a step closer to their dreams of qualifying for Euro 2025 The women's teams are hoping to join England in next year's tournament , after the reigning champions qualified back in July. They'll all need to beat one more international team at the play-off finals to secure their spot in the competition. It's a big moment for all the teams, but especially Wales, who've never qualified for a women's major tournament before. Euro 2025 is set to take place in Switzerland from 2 to 27 July next year. Wales faced off against Slovakia on home turf, where they had to score at least two goals to win overall after a 2-1 loss against the side last week. Jess Fishlock had lots of chances to score, but had a couple of her attempts disallowed after her first goal for Wales. It then took until extra time before Ceri Holland got the winning point, which had to go through a long VAR check after another player rattled the goalposts.
