Eva Sawka Petrowski, age 83, of Plymouth, died Friday at the Hospice of the
VNA, Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Jan. 2, 1921, in Breslau, Hanover Township, she was the daughter of
the late Leon and Anna Sawka. She attended Hanover High School. She was a
member of Saint Casimir’s Church, Lyndwood and had formerly been a member of
SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church of Plymouth. She had resided in
Plymouth for 48 years. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at
Woodbury Manufacturing. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Ann Kizis and Betty Kopcho; brothers,
Wesley, Danny and Theodore Sawka.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Peter; sisters, Mary Kopacz of
Breslau; and Helen Mace of Michigan; a brother, Joseph of Breslau; nieces and
nephews also survive.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home,
in Saint Casimir’s Church, Lyndwood. Interment will be in the parish cemetery,
Muhlenburg.
Friends may call Monday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
