Evacuation ordered for mobile park in Sevier County
SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — An evacuation order has been issued for the Deerfield Mobile Park and the lower side of Bingham Island subdivision in Sevier County, according to the Sevier County Emergency Management Agency.
According to the EMA, flood waters from the French Broad, Pigeon, and Nolichucky rivers, Douglas Lake will be rising within the next 24 hours to near "full pool level." Douglas Dam is also discharging significant water.

Sevier County EMA said residents and property owners on the lake should ensure all docks, boats, and loose items are secured. Residents along the river French Broad River should also secure items and have a plan to evacuate if needed, the EMA said.
On Friday, all residents in South Hamblen County along the Nolichucky River were ordered to evacuate due to the "imminent failure of the Nolichucky Dam" in Greene County , according to the Morristown-Hamblen Emergency Medical Service. Saturday morning, the TVA shared that the Nolichucky River had crested, and the dam was still intact.
Evacuations were also issued Friday afternoon in Cocke County due to the flooding risk . In Carter County, people in Roan Mountain were evacuated Friday morning as flooding occurred across the region. The storms also led to several school and road closures throughout the area .

Saturday morning, President Joe Biden approved an Emergency Declaration for Tennessee , allowing the state to receive assistance through FEMA. The day before, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee issued an executive order requesting the president to approve an Emergency Declaration , after Helene brought heavy rain to the state and caused flash flooding around the Great Smoky Mountains, causing "substantial damage."
