Everything Travis Kelce Has Said About Taylor Swift

A.Hernandez10 hr ago

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been dating for almost a year now, and while the singer has said little about their relationship, the NFL star has been gushing.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end regularly talks about the "Bad Blood" singer, including dishing details about seeing her Eras Tour concerts and meeting her family.

Kelce especially gives fans lots of details on the podcast he hosts with his brother, retired NFL star Jason Kelce.

It was on their New Heights podcast that he first spoke about Swift and how he tried to give her his number.

Let's look back at some of the comments Kelce has made about Swift.

July 2023

Kelce said on New Heights that he attended Swift's Eras show in Kansas City and had hoped to meet her.

"Well, I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings," he said.

"So, I was a little butthurt I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her...She doesn't meet anybody—or at least she didn't want to meet me, so I took it personal. But it was an unbelievable show."

October 2023

After speculation over their relationship, the couple went public in September. Kelce and Swift then made headlines in October as they both made surprise appearances on Saturday Night Live.

On New Heights, Kelce said Swift wanted to support her friend Ice Spice, and he wanted to meet comedian Pete Davidson. In response to a viral video, he insisted he didn't "push" Swift's security guard.

"I placed my hand on the gentleman's back to let him know I was behind him," Kelce said. "If I would've pushed him, he probably would've turned around and tased me."

November 2023

Though they went public two months earlier, it wasn't until November that either of them said anything about their relationship, indirectly or not.

Earlier in the month, a reporter asked Kelce if he was "in love."

"I got to see her last week," Kelce said, ESPN's Jeff Darlington posted on X, formerly Twitter . "I'm going to keep my personal relationship personal."

"When I mention if she's going to be at the game, the Vegas line and over/under on my catches goes up and down, the spread goes up and down," he said. "So I'm just going to keep that to myself."

Kelce had traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to watch Swift perform, and she surprised him by changing the lyrics to one of her famous songs, "Karma."

She sang: "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me." The song's original lyrics are: "Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me."

Kelce revealed his feelings about the "Karma" lyric change on the podcast: "When I heard it come out of her mouth, it still shocked me. I was like, 'Oh Shhh...' she really just said that."

Later that month, Kelce revealed to the Wall Street Journal that someone had played "Cupid" in order for the pair to date and explained how it all came about.

"She'll probably hate me for saying this, but...when she came to Arrowhead, they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room, and her little cousins were taking pictures...in front of my locker," he said.

As they continued to see each other, Kelce decided not to comment on the budding relationship with the media. He explained, "That was the biggest thing to me: make sure I don't say anything that would push Taylor away."

In the interview, he called Swift "hilarious" and "a genius" and shared how the pair share compatible worldviews, as they both think family is of the utmost importance. He has, however, had to learn how to cope with her level of fame.

"Obviously, I've never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them...I've never dealt with it," Kelce said. "But at the same time, I'm not running away from any of it...The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she's just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange."

December 2023

Swift went to watch Kelce take on the Patriots, and he described seeing her on the big screen and the applause she received despite wearing Chiefs colors.

"It just shows you how amazing that girl is," Kelce said . "They went absolutely insane when they showed Taylor on the screen."

"I was trying to keep it cool," he said. "'Don't show your cards, don't show your cards.' It was fun, man."

January 2024

Kelce's pet name for his girlfriend was caught on camera when she joined him on the field following his team's win against the Baltimore Ravens, where he asked, "What's up, Sweetie?"

Jason Kelce said of Swift on New Heights, "Shout out to the newest member of the Chiefs kingdom: Taylor Swift , who has officially reached the Super Bowl in her rookie year," after the brothers discussed the Chiefs reaching the Super Bowl. "That's kind of cool."

"Shout out to Tay," Travis Kelce said. "Thanks for joining the team."

February 2024

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Kelce spoke about how long he had known Swift before she appeared at a game to support him in September.

"Yeah, we had knew [sic] each other for close to a month up to that point," Kelce said. "It wasn't just an out-of-the-blue: 'Hey, come to the game.'"

March 2024

On an episode of New Heights, Kelce spoke about traveling to Singapore to see Swift in concert.

"I got to see two amazing shows of the Eras Tour, the last of the leg that Taylor has until she's back at it here in a couple of months," he said.

He also discussed how much he loved his time in Singapore, saying he went to a "cool as f*** greenhouse," adding: "But yeah, outside of that, it was, uh, got to get some lovely Singapore food and just catch the views."

April 2024

Kelce gushed about his girlfriend in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

"She's on a whole other stratosphere. She's the best at what she does for a reason. It's because she's so articulate and just very dialed into every single thing that she does," he said.

He continued: "I'd be silly if I ever tried to take anything from what she does other than just enjoy the people that show up. I think that's one thing I could probably take away: She really relates to the people she's performing in front of, and so I'll take that."

Kelce also swooned about his life while chatting with People.

"I'm a guy that some people say is 'glass half full, half empty,' and my glass is all the way full . It's all the way full," he said. "I'm oozing life right now."

Just a week later, Kelce wondered out loud how he managed to bag a superstar such as Swift.

"I don't know how I did it because she isn't—she was not into sports. So I don't know how the f*** I did it," he said on New Heights. "No, 100 percent, I know exactly how I did it."

As Travis looked directly into the camera with that line, Jason cracked up.

He also shared his amazement at the scope of her Eras record-breaking tour.

"Man, I'll tell you what, I think the London shows. I think she's at Wembley eight times, which is mind-blowing that she can do that many shows in one stadium and fill that thing up," Kelce told Entertainment Tonight back. "I played in Wembley once, and I don't even think we filled that thing all the way up."

May 2024

The three-time Super Bowl winner continued to praise Swift after catching her shows in Paris.

"I don't know if they're just getting better or if I just keep forgetting how they are. It was electric," he said on New Heights. He also expressed his excitement about seeing Swift's friends, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper. "I got to see Gigi and Bradley. Bradley Cooper , man," Kelce said.

Swift's Eras tour showcased different stages of her career, and Access Hollywood asked Kelce which era was his favorite.

"Oh, I'm a big 1989 era [fan]," Kelce said. "But I'm not gonna lie, I might be a little biased toward The Tortured Poets Department, just a little bit."

June 2024

Kelce opened up about his favorite meal he cooks on date nights but stopped short of revealing what he specifically makes Swift.

"I just recently found out how to make some home-cooked pasta, like some actual noodles," he said in a TikTok video shared by former Bachelor Matt James. Kelce then described the dish in more detail: "I guess just some noodles with some spicy lemon garlic and shrimp. Shrimp linguine."

But at a press conference around the same time, he refused to divulge further information.

"I respect that question, but I'm gonna keep that one to myself," Kelce said. He added, "I thoroughly enjoy cooking with her, so it's something I'd just rather keep personal."

Swift has had a positive impact on Kelce in many ways, including attracting new listeners to his podcast.

"We do have a lot of new football fans coming in," the Super Bowl champion, 34, said. He mentioned that they aim to make the sport more accessible to these newcomers by simplifying the discussions.

"So not just talking football like we would in the locker room, trying to, like, necessarily dumb it down or make it more simple so that everybody can follow along and still enjoy the show," he said.

Kelce recently opened up on how Swift managed to win him over.

"The first game she came to against the Bears, I was like, 'Hey, yeah, so you come—OK, so I could probably set you up with everything,' and she just walked right through the front door," Kelce said on a June 25 episode of the Bussin' With the Boys podcast.

"She just like, there's no, like, going down, getting h—talking to security making sure that she gets to [her seats]. She was just like, 'I just want to be around the family and friends and, like, experience this with everybody.'"

Kelce said that this decision impressed him, and Swift "got points for that."

He added: "She's in the madness, man. She wants to be a part of it. She wants to support me and do things like that. I was, like, 'Man, she, uh, she really won me over with that one.'"

He also admired Swift's ability to stay grounded despite intense media attention and fan adoration.

"She's very self-aware. She understands situations like that and, um, I think that's why I really started to, like, really fall for her, was how genuine she is around just, like, friends and family," Kelce said.

"It can get, it can get crazy for somebody with that much, like, attention, and she just keeps it so chill and so cool."

The tight end added that his and Swift's relationship was a balancing act of keeping things private to protect the relationship and proudly talking about their admiration for each other.

"You want to keep things private, but at the same time, like, I'm not here to hide anything. That's my girl, you know what I mean? That's my lady, so it's like...I'm proud of that," Kelce said.

"I'm not sitting here trying to juggle, like, 'How can I keep this under wraps?' You just don't want to let everyone into your personal life and be able to comment on it, knowing that everything she does is getting a headline."
