A former Google employee filled his CV with ridiculous statements to see how many warning flags recruiters overlook as long as a candidate has worked for a famous company. Jerry Lee, a New York resident, launched a social experiment to see how far his Google credentials would go him in his job quest.

Lee's relatively plain resume included ridiculous 'achievements' such as "expert in Mia Khalifa" and "set the fraternity record for most vodka shots in one night." He then sent the CV to recruiters and waited.

What did the ex-Google employee do?

Lee, who worked as a Strategy and Operations Manager at Google for three years, ran a social experiment to determine how many recruiters thoroughly review CVs. What he discovered has surprised the internet.

Despite including ridiculous and even X-rated 'achievements' on his resume, such as being an authority on former porn star Mia Khalifa, Lee received 29 interview calls in six weeks.

Major firms such as MongoDB and Robinhood have requested Lee to appear for an interview, he stated in an Instagram video documenting his experiment and its results. Lee wrote on Instagram about three things he discovered from his experiment.

Man shared important tips for CV

The founder of the career advice organization Wonsulting emphasized the necessity of a clean and succinct CV.

"Focus on strong bullet points, clear job titles, and the impact you've made," he advised job-seekers. "Periods and font sizes are fine details, but it's the big stuff that gets you noticed."

Finally, he advised job seekers to keep their resumes simple and follow a systematic framework. "Recruiters love them because they can spot the info they need at a glance," he wrote.

How did people on the internet react?

People were shocked on the internet, some shared how bogus hiring processes are, while others couldn't believe it. Here's what people wrote in the comments.
