Ex-Steelers now Ravens WR shares postgame message from Mike Tomlin: ‘He missed me’

Diontae Johnson's return to Pittsburgh did not go as he planned it, with just two targets and zero catches against the Steelers. On top of it, the Baltimore Ravens lost to the Steelers 18-16 in an offensive slugfest.

However, Johnson was able to catch up with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin after the game when the teams were meeting at midfield. During that, Tomlin and Johnson has a brief conversation, the first since Johnson was traded to the Carolina Panthers.

"He told me to keep going, keep my head up, stuff like that. That he missed me and stuff," Johnson told Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette . "He knew that it's all love whenever I see him. Anybody over there. They did nothing but show me love when I was there."

Johnson has just one reception for six yards in three games since being traded from the Carolina Panthers . The Steelers traded Johnson to the Panthers for cornerback Donte Jackson and seem to have come out winners in that trade after the Panthers moved Johnson hastily before the trade deadline.

Now, Johnson's role continues to grow in the Ravens' offense, but he has yet to make a play to spark his offensive production with his new team. Playing for a contract this offseason, Johnson needs to find that level of comfort soon to cash-in come March.
