Hanover Area graduate Sheldon Parker will continue his football career at
Lackawanna Junior College in the fall.

The 6-foot-3, 260-pounder was a two-year starter at offensive and defensive
tackle for the Hawkeyes. Parker received honorable mention on the 1999 Wyoming
Valley Conference all-star team as an offensive lineman his senior year.The
Juvenile Diabetes Organization of Northeastern Pennsylvania will hold a
benefit slow-pitch softball game against the team from KRZ at 6 p.m. tomorrow
at St. Therese’s Little League field at Miner Park in South Wilkes-Barre.

Another featured game that evening will match the Meyers baseball squad
against their mothers. There also will be a game involving the Meyers softball
team and its mothers.

Proceeds from the concession stand will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes
organization.


John Luckasavage had a hole in one Sunday at Sand Springs Golf Course in
Butler Township. He used a 9-iron on the 118-yard third hole. Witnesses were
Tom Mulea, Robert Slomovitz and Darryl Ceccoli.


Paul McCue and Joshua Marth were named all-stars at the Keystone State
Invitational Basketball Camp at Albright College in Reading.

McCue is a guard from Dallas High School, and Marth is a guard from
Lake-Lehman High School.
