SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – It's been unseasonably chilly and unsettled at times the last couple of days, but CNY it's about to be pampered by Mother Nature. Find out the details below...

Frost Advisory

Low temperatures drop into the low to mid-30s overnight into the start of Thursday for many, but 20s to low 30s in the normally coldest parts of CNY south and east of Syracuse.

For this reason, the National Weather Service to issue a Frost Advisory for Onondaga, Oswego, Cayuga, Seneca, and Wayne counties until 9 am Thursday. These are the areas where the National Weather Service considers it to still be in growing season. Areas south and east of Syracuse and across the North Country are not under the frost advisory because the growing season is over.

Frosty chill by night, but...

It's likely another frosty night Thursday night and Friday night and possibly Saturday night before overnight lows climb into the 40s to round out the weekend into next week.

A real treat ahead...

Our extended forecast is one that many will probably love as we warm well into the 50s Thursday, into the 60s by Friday and to within a few degrees of 70 this weekend under lots of sun too!

A strong ridge of high pressure aloft and down at the ground will assist in the warming trend ahead and the sunnier sky. The beautiful weather with possibly even warmer air looks to continue into at least the first part of next week too!

This will make for great viewing of the brightening fall foliage across much of CNY this weekend, a nice view of the third consecutive Supermoon and sweet weather for any other outdoor fall/Halloween activities!

for the latest 7-day forecast.
