Faraci wins against Brownfield in 52nd Senate District
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Democrat Paul Faraci has defeated his Republican opponent Jeff Brownfield for the State Senate seat representing the 52nd district.
Results from Champaign and Vermilion Counties show that the incumbent senator from Champaign won the election with 62% of the vote and with a 20,000-vote margin. This is Faraci's first electoral victory; he was the incumbent by appointment following the death of Senator Scott Bennett in January of 2023. Bennett won reelection in 2022 but died before his new term could begin.
